So there’s a new Ghostbusters board game (Ghostbusters II, fact fans) on the way from Cryptozoic (check out the Kickstarter here).

The game looks great (we backed the first game and it’s awesome!) and we’ve included the details below, but something that got us really excited was the new promo video which has Ernie Hudson – Winston Zeddemore, himself –  leading a new team of Ghostbusters.

Now we know it’s not official, but we felt so damned nostalgic watching it and Hudson looks superb in the role – like we didn’t know he would!

Anyway check out the video below and keep scrolling for all the game details.

Alright Busters, Winston says it’s time for round two. We’ll be offering an early bird special on the Proton Slinger Tier for the first 24 hours (10 am PDT April 11th to 9:59am PDT April 12th). Check out the new gameplay, ghosts and goo at the new campaign!

Vigo the Carpathian has risen and is ransacking Manhattan with the Scoleri Brothers and Janosz Poha. It’s up to the Ghostbusters to harness new gear like Slime Blowers to take down Ghosts and new entities such as Haunted Humans and Plazm.

Each of the four Ghostbusters now has a double sided player card with new abilities that take advantage of Equipment cards and Positively Charged Mood Slime from the Ecto-1a’s Ecto-Tank. Teamwork is even more crucial as many entities can only be trapped with Mood Slime, Proton Streams or, in some cases, a specific combination of both.

The game will contain over 50 new miniatures including a pair of new Ghostbusters for each player that allow for switching between proton and slime blower packs. 20 Equipment cards and 12 Event cards add much more replayability to every scenario and campaign. Also, players will find over 30 new colored snap on bases are used for everything from calling out your character to advanced rules for the entity they are attached to.

Dan Schoening and Erik Burnham have returned from the first game and popular comics to lend their artistic talents once again. Ghostbusters: The Board Game II continues to be filled with references, in-jokes and Easter eggs from the franchise.
Replacement Shipping Update for Ghostbusters: The Board Game I We also have some news from the first game pertaining to a few of you. Replacement parts have now been confirmed as all shipped out as of Friday April 8th. If you have any questions regarding this shipment please private message us in this campaign and we’ll answer promptly.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
