WATCH: New trailer and clip arrive for Spider-man: Far From Home

May 9th, 2019 by Marc Comments

Firstly, an apology, we’ve been having some problems with the site and been unable to post for a few days, so we’re late with this new Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer. Sorry.

But the trailer is here and it’s a lot of fun, spectacular and clearly set after the events of Endgame, so if you’ve not seen that yet I’d advise skipping this for now.

But if you have…

The trailer gives us a great intro to Jake Gyllenhaal as Quentin Beck / Mysterio and interestingly the fact that he claiming to be from another version of earth as the events of Endgame, according to Nick Fury, tore holes in the fabric of the dimensions.

Now there’s a chance this is all a lie and Beck – well, he IS Mysterio – is lying and setting himself up as a hero when he is, in fact, the villain of the pieces, but I think that’s too simple and Beck IS lying but the multiverse has ben revealed thanks to all the time travelling, parallel timelines etc created in Endgame.

This could be a game changer for the MCU and has us wondering if the Multiverse will be the focus of Phase 4, moving ahead?

And if so, what will this mean for the Sony/Marvel relationship? Will it mean we can accept Spider-verse and Venom as an extended part of the MCU? Will it get around the nightmare situation with the Netflix shows? Will it be a way of bringing in the Fantastic Four and X-Men? Who knows…

Let us know your thoughts and check out the trailer and clip below.

(Love the classic Spider-man theme too!)

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
