WATCH: Power Rangers short film will blow your mind…

February 24th, 2015 by Marc 2 Comments

OK, I’ll not lie, I was one of the people who wasn’t too excited about a Power Rangers movie. I mean, and I know not everyone feels like this, I always felt it was just a silly kids show.

This has really changed my mind.

Detention and Torque director Joseph Kahn has released a Power Rangers short that has, frankly, blown our minds here at FTN HQ.

It’s a fan film that he decided to make for fun and, just for extra kicks, he cast Katee Sackhoff and James Van Der Beek as Kimberly and Rocky.

We demand that you watch this NSFW short (we have also embedded a safer version at the bottom of the page) and we promise this will change your mind about the Power Rangers, no matter what your opinion on them was.

Katee Sackhoff – Kimberly/Pink
James Van Der Beek – Rocky
Russ Bain – Tommy/Green
Will Yun Lee – General Klank
Gichi Gamba – Zack/Black

First, the NSFW version…

Then, the safer alternative…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….

As a fan of the series since the beginning? My mind was blown. This was actually really good.

  • Nathan Baxter

Excellent. Better direction, acting, script, fight scenes, costumes, cgi and makeup than most* A-list films.

*really all A-list films; with the exception of Alien…which was actually a B-list release
