Fantastic Beasts takes place 70 years before the events of Harry Potter, with Oscar winner Redmayne as magizoologist Scamander in the central role.
Scamander’s travels around New York with pal Jacob (Dan Fogler) see him cross paths with the wizard Graves (Colin Farrell) and other supernatural forces.
The project has been largely kept under wraps, so little is known about Katherine Waterston, Ron Perlman, Ezra Miller and Samantha Morton’s characters.
JK Rowling has penned the screenplay for Fantastic Beasts, which reunites her with Harry Potter franchise director David Yates – who helmed the final four films in the franchise.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them hits cinemas on on November 18, 2016 in the US and the UK.
