The first trailer for Sausage Party has landed, a film billed as the ‘first R-rated CG animated movie’ with a meaty cast that includes Paul Rudd, Kristen Wiig, James Franco, Jonah Hill, Edward Norton, Seth Rogan and Michael Cera.
Created by Rogen, the movie takes the form of a familiar Pixar setup and reimagines it with foul-mouthed pieces of processed meat. Who doesn’t love that?
The trailer is surreal, madcap and pretty damn hilarious, if you ask us, with Edward Norton’s bagel shouting: “Run for your fucking lives!”
Official synopsis from Columbia Pictures:‘“Sausage Party” is an ‘R’ rated theatrical animated movie about one sausage’s quest to discover the truth about his existence. After falling out of a shopping cart, our hero sausage and his new friends embark on a perilous journey through the supermarket to get back to their aisles before the 4th of July sale.’
Sausage Party hits cinemas on 12 August.
