Back when Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron was shooting, it had been reported that Thor actor Tom Hiddleston was going to be in the Avengers sequel reprising the role as Loki and it became a big deal for Marvel fans everywhere, basically because Loki is so damn awesome.
However, for those who have seen the film at this point know that Loki never made an appearance in the final cut, which was confusing because why cut out such a big Marvel character in one of the biggest films of Phase 2? It left a lot of fans baffled and frustrated.
In a new interview with Digital Spy (below), Hiddleston was asked why Loki was ultimately cut out of the film and said:
“I was part of the dream sequence for Thor in the film. I shot for a day and enjoyed it very much. But in test screenings, audiences had over-emphasized Loki’s role; they thought that Loki was controlling Ultron. It was imbalancing audience’s expectation”
So he was too awesome? Makes sense…
