WATCH: Trailer arrives for DC animated movie: Constantine: City of Demons

August 1st, 2018 by Marc Comments

If, like us, you’ve been patiently waiting for the second half of CW Seed’s animated series Constantine: City of Demons, you may stop waiting…

Why? Well, it seems that the adventure will not have the remainder streamed but will instead have all the episodes put together with additional footage and released as a feature-length movie starring Matt Ryan as the voice of the occult detective.

So, this means that the movie is NOT part of The CW continuity as many believed it was since it was streaming on CW Seed, but rather will be part of the continuity of the DC Animated Universe in which Ryan also played Constantine in the Justice League Dark movie.

That’s a bummer, really.

But Ryan will be featured as John Constantine in the fourth season of Legends of Tomorrow which arrives on our screen this October.

Here’s the synopsis for Constantine: City of Demons:

A decade after a tragic mistake, family man Chas and occult detective John Constantine set out to cure Chas’s daughter Trish from a mysterious supernatural coma. With the help of the mysterious Nightmare Nurse, the influential Queen of Angels, and brutal Aztec God Mictlantecuhtli, the pair just might have a chance at outsmarting the demon Beroul to save Trish’s soul. In a world of shadows and dark magic, not everything is what it seems, and there’s always a price to pay. The path to redemption is never easy, and if Constantine is to succeed, he must navigate through the dark urban underbelly of Los Angeles, outwit the most cunning spawns of hell, and come face to face with arch-nemesis Nergal – all while battling his own inner demons!

Constantine: City of Demons will hit Blu-ray and Digital on October 9th.
