WATCH: Trailer arrives for The Man Who Invented Christmas

September 5th, 2017 by Marc Comments

It’s so weird… only a few days ago I was telling my son how Charles Dickens, in his novel A Christmas Carol, is the one responsible for the modern idea of Christmas.

And lo…

Today we get a trailer for The Man Who Invented Christmas, the ‘true’ story of Dickens and how exactly he came up with the definitive Christmas tale.

It looks like the perfect holiday treat with drama, humour, a cracking cast and, of course, ghosts.

We’ll be spending even more time that usual with Dickens this festive season, it seems.

The Man Who Invented Christmas tells the magical journey that led to the creation of Ebenezer Scrooge (Christopher Plummer), Tiny Tim and other classic characters from A Christmas Carol. Directed by Bharat Nalluri (Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day), the film shows how Charles Dickens (Dan Stevens) mixed real life inspirations with his vivid imagination to conjure up unforgettable characters and a timeless tale, forever changing the holiday season into the celebration we know today.

The Man Who Invented Christmas is set for release on November 22nd.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
