WATCH: Trailer drops for all-new version of Edgar Wright’s Scott Pilgrim Vs The World

March 30th, 2021 by Marc Comments

While Scott Pilgrim Vs The World turned ten last year, we never got the planned cinematic re-release due to that damned virus but it is coming this year.

Taking to twitter, director Edgar Wright wrote: “So, this has long been in the works #ScottPilgrim fans, but I’m pleased to say that in North America on April 30th, the film will come back to the big screen, looking and sounding better than ever in @DolbyCinema,

“This new #DolbyVision & #DolbyAtmos version was supervised by the original team of sound mixer Julian Slater, colorist Stephen Nakamura, DP Bill Pope, myself and editor Paul Machliss. And yes, a 4K Ultra HD Blu Ray is coming soon too (street date TBA).”

The trailer reflects just how exciting this movie is going to look on the big screen where it belongs and I – and I know I’m not alone – want to know if we’re ever going to see it hit cinemas here in the UK, should they ever open again.

Edgar Wright and Dolby Cinema announced that a never-before-seen version of Universal Pictures’ 2010 hit cult classic Scott Pilgrim vs. The World will be coming to theaters on April 30.

The film has been reimagined in Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos and will play exclusively at Dolby Cinema locations in the U.S. for one week only. “Scott Pilgrim vs. The World was designed for the big screen and for the best sound systems,” said Edgar Wright, the film’s director, producer, and co-screenwriter.

“To be able to see it with the best specs is obviously any filmmaker’s dream. You want people to see it as good as it could possibly be. I suspect that if you’re a fan of the movie, you’re going to get such a kick out of seeing it like this.” Starring Michael Cera, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Chris Evans, Aubrey Plaza, Brie Larson, Jason Schwartzman, Alison Pill, Ellen Wong, Brandon Routh, Anna Kendrick, Kieran Culkin, Mae Whitman, and more!

Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
