WATCH: trailer for Chris Rock’s Saw reboot called Spiral: From the Book of Saw is here…

Well, this did not take long at all, did it?

The trailer for Chris Rock’s Saw reboot – confusing titled Spiral: From the Book of Saw – is here and it looks pretty decent, actually.

While writing this, my wife just asked how do you reboot something that already has about ten movies and, looking at this, they are gong to make a movie closer to the original Saw.

That is, a pretty decent thriller before it became a gory saga of movies that increasingly became more and more dull (in my opinion, of course). This looks like a proper return to that school of thought with Rock’s detective caught in a web of police murders in, it seems, more and more gruesome fashions.

But… It seems to me that the inclusion of the ‘Book of Saw’ means that this isn’t the all-out reboot we expected and is more of a ‘from the world of’ sort of deal.

Anyway, the movie also stars Samuel L. Jackson, Marisol Nichols, and Max Minghella, was directed by Darren Lynn Bousman and hits cinemas on May 15th.

It certainly has our attention…
