WATCH: Trailer for Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is an unexpected thrill-ride!

December 5th, 2022 by Marc Comments

I have to be honest, while I was there when Transformers first became a thing in the early 80s and had the first comic book and was there when the first G1 episode dropped, by the time Beast Wars came around, I was past that stage of childhood – though I would come back to the robots in disguise many years later – so my excitement for this movie was pretty low (though not non-existent).

That was until I saw this trailer which clearly picks up after the wonderful Bumblebee movie. Arcee, Primal and all the bots look wonderful – still love that Prime! – but Mirage being Jazz’s alt-mode has me a little confused… I guess Formula-1 Racers don’t fit the ‘robots in disguise’ motif so well, huh?

Anyway, this looks like it could be a lot of fun and a real treat for Gen One, Beast Wars and Bayformers fans alike. Bring it on!

Returning to the action and spectacle that have captured moviegoers around the world, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will take audiences on a ‘90s globetrotting adventure with the Autobots and introduce a whole new breed of Transformer – the Maximals – to the existing battle on earth between Autobots and Decepticons. Directed by Steven Caple Jr. and starring Anthony Ramos and Dominique Fishback, the film arrives in theatres June 9, 2023.

Directed by: Steven Caple Jr.

Starring: Anthony Ramos, Dominique Fishback, Tobe Nwigwe, Peter Cullen, Ron Perlman, Peter Dinklage, Michelle Yeoh, Liza Koshy, John DiMaggio, David Sobolov,  Michaela Jaé Rodriguez, Pete Davidson and Cristo Fernández

Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
