We have our live-action Dora The Explorer

May 4th, 2018 by Marc Comments

We have a live-action Dora The Explorer movie on the way, guys.

No, honestly.

The movie will be penned by Nick Stoller, writer of Bad Neighbours and The Muppets and will star Transformers: The Last Knight star Isabela Moner.

The Dora the Explorer movie will follow a teenage Dora, accompanied by her best friend, Boots the monkey, and her cousin Diego, on an adventure.

James Bobin, director of The Muppets and The Muppets Most Wanted will be helming.

Paramount Players president Brian Robbins said: “We are thrilled to have found our Dora in Isabela. Dora has long been a celebrated, strong heroine in animated television and, like Dora, Isabela has an incredible spirit and is an advocate for positive values. With our partners at Nickelodeon, we look forward to continuing Dora’s story for generations to come.

“I’m honored and excited to bring Dora to life. I grew up watching the show, and for me, especially as a Latina, Dora was an amazing role model — she is a strong, adventurous and fun-loving girl. I can’t wait to put on the backpack and begin her next adventure!”

We’re all waiting to see who’s playing Swiper, truth be told…

Dora the Explorer will begin her adventures on August 2nd, 2019

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
