When Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was released in cinemas we saw Robin’s costume together with the message left behind by the Joker.
Meanwhile, we also caught a glimpse of the weapon that Robin is believed to have used however, his said weapon of choice seems to deviate from the quarterstaff that he used in the comics. Of course, this deviation from the original comic book story comes as part of Snyder’s own reimagining of Gotham in which the city seems to take on a much darker side than we’ve seen on the big screen before.
Digital Spy recently reported that in the Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice Tech Manual, Robin’s weapon had multiple blades and seemed to resemble an axe rather than the staff that we are familiar with. Seemingly then, Robin’s weapon was capable of doing some serious damage!
In the end, the weapon that Snyder included in the film was looking rather worse for wear. The weapon was pretty smashed up, perhaps a nod to the incident that Robin was involved in before his death.
Snyder may indeed be referencing the Batman stories of 1988-89 including Batman: The Killing Joke and Batman: A Death in the Family which tell the story of Robin’s brutal death at the hands of the Joker leaving a sour taste in Bruce/Batman’s mouth. Let us know what you think in the comments
