Cheer up Wreck-It Ralph fans… the big guy is coming back!

In a Facebook Live Stream (here) co-director of the first movie Rich Moore and co-writer Phil Johnston announced that a sequel to the video-game inspired, animated movie is set for March 9th, 2018.

The actual announcement part was given by Ralph actor John C Reilly who also joked that he’s talked up a sequel a few times.

But this isn’t a joke, it’s really happening.

Moore said: “This time, Ralph’s wrecking wreaks havoc on the Web—as only he can do. Characters we loved in the first film are back and we are ecstatic to be working with them—and the actors who voice them—once again.”

Both Reilly and Sarah Silverman are confirmed as returning for now, with others no doubt added in time

“The world of the internet is the perfect place to send Ralph and Vanellope,” added Johnston. “The scope and scale are so vast and the possibilities for comedy are endless.”

We’re looking forward to seeing Ralph and co back and the idea of them loose on the internet? Well, the possibilities are pretty much endless…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
