Writer Found For Star Wars Spinoff Film?

January 27th, 2015 by Todd Black Comments

The spinoff films for the upcoming Star Wars trilogy have even more mysteries around them than the trilogy itself! Recent news broke that Gary Whitta, who had been attached as writer for the film, exited the project. Which left a hole in production. Now, The Hollywood Reporter is saying that a new writer has been found.

Chris Weitz, who you may known from his Oscar nominated film, About A Boy, or the upcoming Cinderella movie, is apparently set to take over the writing duties for the spinoff.

There is still nothing known about the plot of the spinoff (outside of rumors of course), but the release date is set for Dec 16, 2016. Literally a year after The Force Awakens arrives in theaters.
