While The LEGO Movie sequel is due to hit cinemas next February, we’ve been wondering – given the Nerds that we are – if we were getting a sequel to LEGO Batman.
And, thanks to an interaction on Twitter between a fan and director of the first movie, Chris McKay, we know that a sequel is in the works.
When asked if a sequel was coming, McKay replied: “We are working on that rn actually! In the meantime LEGO Batman is all over LEGO 2 coming in February.”
You can see the full Tweet below, but it certainly is good to know that the Gotham guardian will be returning in his very own clunky sequel.
Though we don’t know when.
There are big changes brewing in Gotham, but if Batman (Will Arnett) wants to save the city from the Joker’s (Zach Galifianakis) hostile takeover, he may have to drop the lone vigilante thing, try to work with others and maybe, just maybe, learn to lighten up. Maybe his superhero sidekick Robin (Michael Cera) and loyal butler Alfred (Ralph Fiennes) can show him a thing or two.
We are working on that rn actually! In the meantime LEGO Batman is all over LEGO 2 coming in February.
