FTN Podcast Showcase #1 (16/04/13): Menage-A-Geek & The Time Warriors

April 16th, 2013 by Marc Comments

Here is our first ever Podcast round-up.

You guys are already familiar with our FTN Live Podcast, our sister Star Wars Podcast, The Empire Talks Back, and our long-running brothers from other mothers, Stuart and Andy at The Monday Movie Show.

But here’s the thing, we’ve started a pandemic of sorts. And it’s awesome. This week we’re featuring two shows brought to you by FTN’s adventurous crew. Spin-offs if you like. Put together by some of the talents that work on your favourite site.

But rememeber, Forest Gump’s mum was right; you never know what you’re gonna get…

First up: Menage-A-Geek by our very own video gamer dude, Alan and his lovely wife Lou:
In this week’s show we talk about 70’s/80’s TV
Video games: Bioshock Infinite, Farcry 3 Blood Dragon, Black Ops 2 Uprising and Lou informs us of her fond memories of a game called Zool.
Movies we really skim over, chatting about how pointless the Carrie remake is and if Evil Dead will be any good.
Then the What if you woke up in the morning and… question came from Stu Miller this week, it’s crazy and out there but we answer it.
remember we are on Twitter @menageageek

Next up: Owen Quinn and Gerard McFadden’s Doctor Who-heavy podcast inspired by Owen’s Books: The Time Warriors Podcast:
The Time Warriors Podcast is proud to exclusively interview the man behind ‘The Question’, the first question, the question that must never be answered, Dorium Maldovor himself, Mr Simon Fisher Becker.
In the second half Gerard and Owen discuss the latest episode of Doctor Who – Cold War and inevitably talk turns once again to speculation on the 50th anniversary.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
