We love The Simpsons here at FTN. Yes, we know it’s nowhere near as good as it once was, but dammit, we still love those characters – which is probably why we’re never off Tapped Out, but that’s another story.

So, the news that LEGO were doing a Simpsons line was greatly welcomed at the FTN HQ. But we’ve known about it for so long without seeing anything to support the story that it was happening. Had we dreamed it? Was it lies? Well, finally we can confirm that no, it really is happening and here is the first peek at Homer, Marge, Lisa and Ned (Homer and Ned are complete figures, whereas Lisa and Marge are missing their proper logs, hence looking like they are in their undercrackers.

The pics – which we can confirm ARE the official figures – came from ebay sellers lego*dude and votvik who managed – we don’t know how, nor do we want to know – to get their hands on a few of the figures before anyone else.

So far we know that the first set to be released will be the Simpsons house – presumably with the whole family –  and we know that the minifigures wave released at the same time will consist of Simpsons figures only. We can expect to see them sometime in May 2013.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
