Does Mattel’s new Ghostbusters figure line reveal two BIG villains from the new movie? UPDATED New images

Ok, so yesterday we got the trailer teaser (sigh) for the upcoming Ghostbusters reboot as well as the theatrical poster (above) and we kinda like what we see so far.

But today, we’ve got new stuff to share in the form of SPOILERIFIC Toys from the just finished NY Toyfare.

Now we’re speculating here…

Ok, so the images below have appeared online and depict Mattel’s upcoming line of figures from the new  movie. With me so far? Good.

Now, what we get is the four GBs themselves (above), Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Melissa McCarthy and Leslie Jones and a couple of ghosts (second image below).

One of the ghosts seems to be the Ghost from the GB’s ‘no ghost logo’, ie the white one with the bow tie and we find him very reminiscent of the opening from the classic Real Ghostbusters cartoon series (below). But is he a character in the movie? A ghost to be busted so to speak?

GB Big bad

However, the second ghost (above) is, what we’re hearing, the big villain of the movie, the Gozer of this take on the story so to speak.

Now, we’re wondering if he’s Daemon (as revealed in the LEGO set)?  Is he the villain played by Neill Casey, perhaps?

Whatever the case, we’re still just guessing but he looks big and mean…

What do you all think?

Ghostbusters stars Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Melissa McCarthy and Leslie Jones along with Chris Hemsworth, Andy Garcia, Michael K. William and Neil Casey; it’s directed by Paul Feig from a script he co-wrote with Katie Dippold.

Ghostbusters will be in theaters on July 15.

UPDATED: New images have appeared online thanks to Ghostbusters Mania that chow more of the same, but interestingly seem to show the new movie’s version of Slimer. We’re guessing Mr Stay Puft is in there as a nod to the original movie, not as part of the new movie. Oh and we found out the demon above is called, wait for it… Mayhem
