WATCH: New LEGO pic reveals characters from Star Wars Rebels and up close look at new series sets

January 31st, 2014 by Marc Comments

Benjamin Hart over at Star Wars Underworld has a pretty tasty scoop that manages to give us a look at new Star Wars LEGO and also an idea of the characters we can expect to see in all-new Star Wars animated series Rebels this fall.

He writes: “The image is a close up of the box for set #75053 The Ghost.

“Zeb appears to be a new type of Alien, which Hoth Bricks claims is inspired by the initial concept sketches of Chewbacca by Ralph McQuarrie. Hera is rumored to be the daughter Cham Syndulla from Star Wars: The Clone Wars (pictured below) and I think it’s pretty obvious Kanan is a Jedi. This is also our first look at the basic Stormtrooper mini figure.”

At the Nuremberg Germany toy fair Atamaii managed to get a good look at the sets from the new series and grabbed the footage below. We have to say, we’re loving the look for these sets… could this be a whole new reason to start collecting a LEGO line? Probably not… i mean, who needs a new reason?

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
