2002 Birds of Prey star back for Crisis on Infinite Earths, Lynda Carter likely to return and a new ATOM cast

September 27th, 2019 by Marc Comments

It looks like The CW’s Crisis On Infinite Earths crossover is dipping into the past, present and future for this year’s TV event.

We have three exciting additions today, with the first being Ashley Scott who play Helena Kyle (daughter of Batman and Catwoman) AKA Huntress in the five-part event.

The actress played Helena in the 2002 Birds of Prey series which, it could be argued, laid the foundation for The CW’s DC TV Universe before even Smallville.

She starred alongside Dina Meyer as Batgirl and Rachel Skarsten as Black Canary… Skarsten is set to appear in the upcoming Bargirl series as the main villain, Alice, so it’s not totally unthinkable that she may cameo in her past role too.

In addition to this, in a new report about why Michael Rosenbaum turned down a return as Lex Luthor, Deadline revealed that it looks like Lynda Carter may also be returning: “Lynda Carter (who portrayed an alien disguised as an American politician on two seasons of Supergirl) also might return as some version of Wonder Woman, the character that that gave Carter an iconic career success in the 1970s.”

Of course, having Carter back as an older Diana Prince AKA Wonder Woman would be nothing short of magical.

And finally, in a last bit of Crisis news, it seems that Supernatural star Osric Chau – he played prophet Kevin Tran and also popped up in the BBC’s Dirk Gently series – has been cast as Ryan Choi.

Let the theories begin now!

TV Insider has learned exclusively that Osric Chau has been cast the recurring role of Ryan Choi for this winter’s Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover between Arrow, The Flash, Batwoman, Supergirland DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.

In the series he is described as a “physics professor at Ivy Town University, a normal guy who learns that he has a pivotal role to play in the coming crisis on infinite earths.”

Comic fans will know of course that Choi is the parson who picks up the mantel of The ATOM after Ray Palmer is lost in the Microverse in the Rebirth books.

The character was also set to appear in Zack Snyder’s Justice League but alas was cut from the final version of the movie that Warner Bros released.

It’s interesting that Choi will be in the crossover since we know that Brandon Routh, who plays The ATOM aka Ray Palmer in Legends of Tomorrow, is stepping down after the upcoming season.

Is Osric Chau perhaps joining the Legends? You heard it here first…

Crisis on Infinite Earths kicks off Sunday, December 8th on Supergirl, then continues with a Monday episode of Batwoman and that Tuesday’s The Flash. After a month-long holiday break, it concludes with the Jan. 14 episode of Arrow and a special instalment of Legends of Tomorrow.
