Fans of Agents of Shield got to rejoice the other day when it was revealed the show would be getting a sixth season. However, that celebration may have just gotten cut short.
For reports are stating that the sixth season of the fan-favorite show isn’t going to air in 2018, or early 2019. Rather, the 13-episode season will debut in the Summer of 2019. What’s more, some of the ABC folk are saying that Shield could go beyond six seasons, which is an odd choice of words given that they’re making us wait over a year (the season finale is this Friday) for it to return.
Fans can only wait so long.
Now, this does make sense in a way, as if it did come on in its usual spot and time (even the delayed December release from this current season), it could’ve caused problems, as the show is in the same “timeframe” as the MCU movies, and they would’ve had to explain how the team had survived Thanos’ “snap” at the end of Infinity War. This was, Season 06 arrives AFTER Avengers 4, giving more leeway and freedom.
We’ll just have to see how everything plays out.
