This just got real.
Mere hours after the reveal of Hawkgirl being cast in the CW’s potential spinoff featuring a menagerie of Arrow and Flash characters, mixed with some new DC blood, we have received word that Arthur Darvill, who you will know mainly as Rory Williams from Doctor Who, has been cast as Rip Hunter.
Rip Hunter is a major player in the DC Universe, his time travel adventures are near legendary if you know where to look. He has also been featured in the DC animated universe via Batman the Brave and the Bold. In fact, when Booster Gold (who many thought might be in this series) questioned what made Rip so special, he replied:
“You’re a time traveler. I’m a Time Lord.”
*mic drop*
Anyway, for the potential spinoff. Rip is being described as “a roguish time traveler who hides the strains of being responsible for history itself behind a facade of charm and wit.”
Hmm…if only Arthur Darvill had experience acting with someone of this character before…
