With this being the last season of Arrow for The CW there are many rumors about what show will take over in its absence.
Will we get a Conroy Batman series? How about having Diggle find his lantern ring? Well instead it seems that a Birds of Prey TV series has been pitched to CW by one of the Arrow cast.
Katie Cassidy Rogers, or better known as Laurel Lance, Black Canary and Black Siren in Arrow says that she has pitched a Birds of Prey series to CW.
Of course, there was a Birds of Prey series in 2002 that lasted less than a full season… but it could be argued it was ahead of its time and a precursor to the Arrowverse we know and (mostly) love today.
When asked about the project Cassidy Rogers replied: “I’ve pitched it, I think they should. It’s time for women. Come on, we’ve got this.”
Now we’ve already had a few little Birds of Prey-esk things happen in Arrow with her teaming up with her sister who since went and became head of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.
With girl power on the rise it’s not surprising that the Spice Girls aren’t the only ones making a comeback with female and women-based shows/movies popping up everywhere and I look forward to seeing if they can hold up… that said, with the Birds of Prey movie coming in a few months, it’s unlikely we’ll have a series by the same name.
But you never know.
