It looks like the new Arrow season may answer a question we’ve had on our minds for a while now… just what did Black Canary say to Oliver before her death?

You may recall last season as Black Canaray/Laurel Lance – Katie Cassidy  – lay on her death bed, she leaned over to Oliver Queen and told him something. Something we couldn’t hear.

Arrow’s Executive Producer Wendy Mericle said “We’re as curious as you are, but the good news is, the wait is almost over. According to Mericle, the late Black Canary’s last words will be revealed in the season premiere.”

But will we see the return of Laurel Lance in some other form? After all the Arrow-verse has a habbit of killing people and bringing them back… especially since there’s now more than one earth.

Well, showrunner Marc Guggenheim was asked if we may see her return on Legends of Tomorrowsince the end of the first season clearly hinted that the Legends are now in control of time and that means anything can happen: “No, that conflicts with other plans we have…he said, intentionally misleading and hopefully teasing.”

We’re definitely taking from this that there are plans for Katie Cassidy and/or Black Canary. But just what they are? Well, that’s anyone’s guess…

What do you think?

In related news, Mericle also spoke briefly about the bad guy this season and it sounds like Oliver could have a dark mirror image for a villain: “is somebody Oliver unwittingly created in Season 1 when he was a killer in a hood,” Mericle says, “This guy is going to be collateral damage who lost someone to the Hood and [has] spent the last several years training and plotting for revenge. He will be a true dark mirror to Oliver Queen.”

Interesting indeed… we like the idea that it might be someone we already know. Do you?
