Boba Fett series set to possibly start filming this month as The Mandalorian season 3 preps

November 9th, 2020 by Marc Comments

With The Mandalorian back on our screens on Disney+ and shaping up nicely – yes, I liked the second episode – we’re all wondering where it’s going next.

And now we may have an idea.

With the appearance of SPOILERS Temuera Morrison as Boba Fett SPOILERS END at the end of the first episode, it’s unlikely anyone thought he was back for a cameo and nothing more. And now it seems that he’s back for a lot more than just a cameo.

A new report from Deadline says that with the second season finished some time ago, before that damned virus hit, in fact, that season three, which Showrunner Jon Favreau has said he wanted filming by the end of 2020, may be about to start rolling with pre-production having been ongoing for a number of months.

But, as if this isn’t enough, we’re hearing that a spin-off series may be in the works and it may just be a Boba Fett series with Morrison starring. And it could be set to begin filming in the next week or so too!

There has also been a lot of chatter about Gina Carrano’s Cara Dune getting her own spinoff series which will tell the story of the character’s life in the rebellion before the fall of the Empire which  I would be very keen on as her character was a great addition to the Star Wars lore. That said, I’ve always been a sucker for the original and best Mandalorian.

Disney CEO Bob Iger said in February that there was plans to increase the universe of The Mandalorain as there was “the possibility of infusing [the mothership series] with more characters and taking those characters in their own direction in terms of series.”

Whatever happens, it seems that The Mandalorian is just the beginning of a whole new chapter in the Star Wars universe… let’s hope it’s all as good as the series that kicked it all off.

What say you? Bobe Fett series? Cara Dune series? Both? Neither? Let me know all those thoughts, gang…
