UPDATE!!!!!: Ok…despite rumors to the contrary (which we helped circulate…), apparently Constantine is NOT cancelled s of yet. Check out this update from the showrunner himself Daniel Cerone:

“I just received confirmation from the corporate offices at NBC. I was assured that Constantine has not been canceled and our pitch meeting to discuss a potential second season remains on the books. By the way, this is a pitch meeting involving the president of Warner Bros and and the entertainment heads of NBC. Nobody at this incredibly busy time of the development season has time to waste taking pointless meetings.

Now, is it fair to say that Constantine is a long shot? Sure, that’s fair to say. While we marginally improved a tough time slot for NBC, we’re a very expensive show to produce. A lot of NBC’s decision making will not doubt hinge on their new pilots and how they feel those new shows would fare as a companion piece to Grimm, versus a second season of Constantine.”

No matter which way this swings, we’ll be here to let you know how it falls.

The original story is below:

Well, it looks like the good fight is over… John Constantine lost the war.

Buzzfeed are running a fairly comprehensive list of shows and their fates this season and, sadly, Constantine is cancelled.

We all knew it was possible, if not likely, but it’s still a bitter pill.

The author of the Buzzfeed article Tweeted the message below, confirming that she’s confident the show is gone.

We grew to love the demon-hunting smart mouth over the course of the first (half of) season. And we really hoped the angels would have smiled on him.

If anything changes we’ll let you all know.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
