If you haven’t watched Daredevil…then you’re missing out. Like, seriously, you are. But if you were apprehensive about watching it, you weren’t alone. Many still had the memory of Ben Affleck’s version fresh in their minds, and so when this one came along, it had a lot to make up for in many a fans heads.

One of the key details would be the costume. How would Daredevil look in the MCU? Well, we got our answer, and it was pretty cool. And it turns out, it was really, REALLY close to the original design the artists had for this vision of Daredevil. Check out the original concept art below!

“The tone that was really communicated was the sense of realism that they were going for,” Designer Ryan Meinerding relates to Marvel.com. “I think the way that [manifested itself in] the costume was through the armor and making it feel a little bit more padded than you traditionally think of Daredevil being. When we do these designs, there’s a concept of grounded and a concept of reality. The grounded nature that they brought to the vigilante costume was the simplicity and effectiveness, because you’re trying to conceal your identity but also [have to be] mobile enough to fight.”

Makes sense, and it did work for many. And it’s entirely possible that the costume will have some alterations as season 2 arrives. We’ll just have to wait and see.
