Clancy Brown Joins The Flash

August 9th, 2014 by Todd Black Comments

Things just keep bigger for The Flash. The pilot still hasn’t (officially) shown and stars are still being announced for future episodes! And this one is a guy who’s no stranger to the DC universe.

The Hollywood Reporter broke the story that Clancy Brown, known to many DC fans as the voice of Lex Luthor for many, MANY, years has joined the cast of Flash as General Wade Eiling. In the series, Eiling will be a recurring character. Showing up first to hunt down Plastique to be used as a human weapon.

The character of Eiling is well document in both DC comic lore and animated history. In the cartoon series Justice League Unlimited, Eiling was an associate of Amanda Waller (dun, dun, DUN!!!!!), and a guy who wanted to both serve his country, and not have guys like Superman around. He feared them going rogue so much he took an experimental formula transforming him into Blockbuster.

Not saying that’s going to happen here, but since he is in The Flash, no doubt he’ll have numerous run-ins with Barry Allen and crew.

The Flash dashes to television on Oct. 7.
