Community creator Dan Harmon says ‘talks are happening’ on a movie

May 12th, 2020 by Marc Comments

Recently there has been a lot of activity around the possibility of Community finally completing the prophecised ‘Six seasons and a movie’ and now creator Dan Harmon is jumping in with some very positive updates.

Community has a bumpy ride with stars Donlad Glover and Chevy Chase leaving before it wrapped and Chase’s difficulty on set. On top of that NBC pulled the plug in Season 4 before Yahoo! Screen jumped in to rescue it.

And it was mentioned in the series that they we destined for ‘six seasons and a movie’ by Abed. And now, with six seasons in the bag, the fans – and the cast – are calling for that movie.

“I can tell people for sure that the enthusiasm for Community, both for all of this time and the resurgence of it [on Netflix], there’s always an aspect of that affects the marketplace,” Harmon says.

“And when the marketplace gets affected, conversations happen. And when conversations happen, things happen.

“I mean, when you’re part of the Community family, you learn never to raise expectations, keep ‘em nice and low and then be pleasantly surprised. So I can say that there are conversations happening that people would want to be happening and that I’m very, very excited about the coming months.”

Hmmmm… the coming months, huh? Should we stay excited in the hope that we will finally see the whole gang back on the big screen? We know Chevy Chase won’t be returning, but Donald Glover is reportedly up for the movie… so should we be excited?

Well, we’re fans… staying excited is what we do.

See you opening night, gang (hopefully).

He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
