Well, it’s been speculated on for weeks now but it’s finally confirmed that Howard Stark is now Jesse Custer in the upcoming Preacher TV series.
Producer Seth Rogan confirmed earlier on Twitter that he is officially the man who will save us all (below).
Deadline report that “After lengthy negotiations, Dominic Cooper has closed a deal to play the lead in AMC drama pilot Preacher, based on Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon’s cult 1990s comic. The project [is] from Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg, Sony TV and AMC Studios.”
We’re excited for this casting… what about you guys?
Preacher tells the story of Custer, a small town Texas preacher who, nearly at his faith’s end, finds himself merged with a supernatural entity, Genesis, birthed from both an angel and a demon. Imbued with the word of God (the ability to make anyone obey his commands), Jesse hits the road, reunited with his ex-girlfriend, Tulip, and joined by a rowdy Irish vampire, Cassidy, to track down God himself and force him to explain why he abandoned his duties in Heaven.
We have Jesse Custer! @dominiccoop is gonna save our souls. #Preacher
