With every passing episode of Titans on the DC Universe streaming service, the show gets better and better and we get more and more excited not just for it but for the other shows the service will be bringing us.

And the next show to get excited for is Swamp Thing which has just added two exciting new cast members to its roster.

Firstly, Halloween (2018) and Falling Skies star Will Patton has been cast as Avery Sunderland in the project and will be one of the lead characters in the series.

As its most prominent businessman, Avery Sunderland serves as the de facto patriarch of his Louisiana hometown, always giving back to the community.  His benevolent veneer, however, masks a ruthless determination to harness the power of the swamp for profit.

Next up, Lost, Wolverine and The Strain star Kevin Durand will play Jason Woodrue, the brilliant but abrasive scientist who also becomes the villain Floronic Man.

“Prickly genius Jason Woodrue is a biogeneticist without equal and he knows it. Brought in to study the unique properties of a small-town Louisiana swamp, Woodrue becomes fixated on unlocking the potential contained within — leading to tragic and monstrous consequences.”

We also have news that Riverdale star Henderson Wade will play Matt Cable, a character who is close friends in the comic with Abby Arcane and Swamp Thing but after his death makes a jump across to the Sandman story and is resurrected as Dream’s raven… could this mean we’ll be seeing Death, Dream and the Sandman coming into the DC Universe streaming service? Oh, man… wouldn’t that be a thing?

Anyway.

Swamp Thing is expected sometime next year and stars Derek Mears as Swamp Thing, Andy Bean as Alec Holland, Crystal Reed as Abby Arcane and Jennifer Beals as Sheriff Lucilia Cable.
