Deadly Class comic series heads to Syfy

April 18th, 2018 by Ciaran McElherron Comments

Syfy has ordered a full series of Deadly Class based on the Image Comics Graphic novel by Rick Remender and Wes Craig.

Deadly Class was adapted for TV by Remender and Miles Orion Feldsott who will also serve as executive producers along with Infinity War’s Russo brothers and Mike Larocca.

The series is set in a dark world against the backdrop if late 80s counter culture. It follows a homeless teen recruited to an elite private school where the top criminal families send their offspring, as he attempts to keep his own moral code while surviving the ruthless curriculum, his own adolescence and the various social cliques that exist in the school.

The series will star Benedict Wong, Benjamin Wadsworth, Lana Condor, Maria Gabriela de Faria, Luke Tennie, Liam James, and Michel Duval.

“We’re committed to developing graphic novels for Syfy and have found a rich, compelling, truly unique world in ‘Deadly Class,’” said Bill McGoldrick, president of scripted content for NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment. “Our producing partners expertly combined high school angst, 80s nostalgia and comic flair into a beautifully realized, visually arresting pilot that truly brings Rick and Wes’ acclaimed comic series to life.”
