Disney+ bringing viewers the scares with new Goosebumps series

February 7th, 2022 by Marc Comments

Get ready to be scared as Disney+ acquire the rights to RL Stine’s Goosebumps!

The new series will get ten episodes and will be based around the series of young-adult horror novels of the same name.

According to the official description:

The series follows a group of five high schoolers who unleash supernatural forces upon their town and must all work together – thanks to and in spite of their friendships, rivalries, and pasts with each other – in order to save it, learning much about their own parents’ teenage secrets in the process.

Nick Stoller and Rob Letterman will pen the series with Sony producing.

The Goosebumps series has over 200 titles now and is an incredibly popular series with younger – and older – readers looking for some spooky fun. It has already been adapted as a TV series in the late 90s and has had two big-screen outings too, so this could be a series with longevity at Disney+.

He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
