Don Cheadle talks Armour Wars and reveals he’s set to appear in another Disney+ series first

February 7th, 2021 by Marc Comments

We reported recently news about characters we expected to see in the upcoming Disney+ MCU series Armour Wars (here).

But now star Don Cheadle has given us our first real news about the series – although it seems he’s not been privy to too much information himself yet: “The death of Tony Stark, I’m pretty sure, will play a role in the series,” the actor says.

“Where we’ve been sort of progressing Rhodey – even in the last film where he’s now up again and he’s now walking again and he’s now mobile again – so as the technology continues to develop and we keep making innovations in the suit and what happens, I imagine there’s gonna be another elevation and another way that we’re going to keep digging into that part of Rhodey.”

It seems that, as with the last Spider-man movie, the death of Tony Stark will play a part in the series but given that he created the Iron Man armour in the first place, it’s not a big surprise.

However, more excitingly, he has revealed that long before Armour Wars airs, we’ll see the return of Rhodey in the MCU: “That’s some of the fun of the MCU, that we all get to show up in each other’s stories, and there are ways that we’re cross-platforming these characters, and they become storylines, sometimes, in the movies,” he says.

“And then these storylines in the movies become storylines in the shows. It’s really a fun and interesting and, by all imagination, completely open-ended — this can go anywhere. It’s great, I can’t wait to get in the room with the writers and figure out how all those things happen [in Armour Wars]… You know, Rhodey shows up in Winter Soldier and Falcon’s show. So, it can be a lot.”

So, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which kicks off on March 19th, will see Tony Stark’s best friend appear alongside the titular heroes. That’s pretty cool.

Anyway, what do you all think? Are you excited to see War Machine/Rhodey appear in the show before stepping in to lead his own series?

Let me know your thoughts, folks.
