Get ready for the new daily show

Excited for the new Doctor Who theme? Well, you’ve a while longer to wait…

One of the things I look forward to most when a new series of Doctor Who begins, especially when we get a new Doctor, is the new theme and this year, with Jodie Whittaker stepping into the TARDIS is no different.

Although it looks like we’ll have a longer wait this series.

Speaking to Doctor Who Magazine, new showrunner Chris Chibnall has said we won’t be hearing composer Segun Akinola’s new theme in Whittaker’s debut episode, The Woman Who Fell To Earth.

Wut?

“You’ll have to wait till episode two to see [the new titles and theme] in situ,” Chibnall says, “Episode one starts a little differently.”

What does this mean? It’s not Doctor Who without the theme… so what will we get that’s ‘different’? We’ll all know in just under three weeks.

Doctor Who returns on Sunday, October 7 on BBC One.
