You may recall that late last year, after the release of John Wick: Chapter 4, we reported, below, that among other spinoffs, a series based on The High Table, the overseers of the crazy world of spies and assassins, was in development? Well, now we have an update and it sounds pretty great.
The series is officially called John Wick: Under The High Table, is described as an ‘action series’ and will be produced by star Keanu Reeves (who is not expected to appear in the series as of now) and director Chad Stahelski with Stahelski also handling directorial duties on the first episode with The Old Man co-creator Robert Levine writing.
Stahelski was made the overseer of the John Wick universe earlier this year, below, and this new series will be the first official production under his watch.
The show’s synopsis reads: John Wick: The High Table picks up directly after the end of John Wick: Chapter 4. John Wick has left the world of the High Table in a tenuous position and a collection of new characters will look to make a name for themselves while some of the franchise stalwart characters remain committed to the old-world order.
More John Wick spinoffs, a High Table series and – yes! – an anime are in development!
The news comes on the heels of the news that John Wick Chapter 5 is currently in development with Reeves set to return.
Under the High Table is not the first John Wick spinoff, even if it is the first under Stahelski, with the movie Ballerina now due to come out June 2025 and The Continental series having aired earlier this year. There has also been a comic series from Dynamite Comics.
Right now we also know that character of Caine, played by Donnie Yen, is getting his own movie after the ending of John Wick Chapter 4 and there’s an anime series or movie in development too with more spin-offs planned and we’re also hearing that an open-word videogame is coming.
