Looks like this year’s Star Wars Day – May the fourth – will bring us the first Star Wars series to be a) set during The High Republic era and b) to be aimed squarely at pre-schoolers.
The series will feature new characters Kai, Lys, & Nubs, & their friends Nash and RJ-83 who will be under the tutelage of Master Yoda at the Jedi Temple, pictured below.
Set during The High Republic era, Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures follows Younglings as they study the ways of the Force and learn valuable skills needed to become Jedi: compassion, self-discipline, teamwork, patience, and friendship.
While the series is made for the younger Star Wars fans, it will be canon to the wider Star Wars story and because it’s set during the very popular High Republic series, it will undoubtedly have a lot of adult fans watching too… myself among them.
As well as Yoda, it’s likely the show will feature other familiar faces from The High Replublic series.
I love the style of the characters and the animation and will definitely check it out a few times to see if it’s worth watching… knowing Disney, there’ll be something big in the series that makes it essential watching.
See you in front of the telly on May 4th, guys.
There’s also a series of books for your younglings based on the show; all the details can be found here.
