While we still have no real idea when we can sit down and watch the Obi-Wan Kenobi series on Disney+, we do know who we’ll be watching on the screen.
Disney/Lucasfilm have revealed the full cast for the series and when the series is set to begin production.
The series will take place ten years after the events of Revenge of the Sith and will chronicle a period in the Jedi Master’s life that is largely unknown.
In the cast are several exciting returning actors/characters with Hayden Christensen’s return as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader still the most exciting (here) but the return of Joel Edgerton and Bonnie Piesse as Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru Lars is exciting too and almost certainly means we’ll see a young Luke in here too.
However, the rest of the cast are new additions and it’s exciting to ponder who they may be in a galaxy far, far away.
Joining the series are Moses Ingram, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr, Sung Kang, Simone Kessell and Benny Safdie – you can check out the official images of the stars at the bottom of this post – most interesting here are Ingram (who teased on Twitter she will use lightsabers) who I’ve heard may be a young Ahsoka Tano, Kumail Najiani who i’ve seen rumoured to be playing Jedi Master Quinlan Vos and Sung Kang who is best known as Han in the Fast and Furious franchise.
Deborah Chow, who directed two episodes of The Mandalorian, directs will direct the full series.
“We start making it in the late spring and we’re gonna be shooting it here in LA,” says McGregor
“We’re shooting it much in the way The Mandalorian series was shot. We’re using some of that technology,” he went on. “I really liked it and I liked the format of it. I liked the Western nature of it, it’s an old-fashioned TV Western. It’s brilliant.”
We’d expect more news and details over the coming weeks and months, so stay here for all the news and speculation.
What say you all? Are you excited for the series? I want to hear all your thoughts…
