It seems we know who will be playing the roles of Joel and Ellie in the highly anticipated The Last of Us adaptation on HBO.
The series has been in development for a while (here) from Craig Mazin, the creator of the stunning series Chernobyl and will be based on 2013’s hit game.
There’s been a lot of speculation over who should play the two leads in the show and now we finally have the official confirmation of who got the two gigs.
The Mandalorian himself, Pedro Pascal, will play Joel while Game of Throne’s breakout star Bella Ramsey who absolutely ruled as Lyanna Mormont, will play Ellie.
Pascal too was one of Thrones’ breakout stars but the two never shared time onscreen… but they will now.
The Mandalorian’s Pedro Pascal has been cast as Joel in the upcoming HBO adaptation of The Last of Us.
The series will be written by As reported by Mazin and The Last of Us games’ director and Naughty Dog Co-President Neil Druckmann and will see Joel and Ellie breakout of a heavily quarantined zone to cross a barren wasteland US full of mutants and horrorific monsters.
The game spawned a sequel last year and has become a cultural phenomenon that, if translated properly (and we trust Mazin and Druckmann) could become a thrilling weekly adventure.
What say you all? Let me know…
