We hope you’re excited, because Preacher starts on Sunday (Monday on Amazon Prime if you’re in the UK like us). Preacher. The TV series. It still feels strange to say that one of the most graphic, out there comics of all time is actually coming to our screens.

In a new video put out by AMC – who have been very good at not giving too much away about the season before it airs – you can get to know the show’s three main characters.

The titular preacher Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), the fiery Tulip (Ruth Negga) and hard swearin’, hard fightin’ and hard blood-drinkin’ Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) all get introduced, and it’s like the pages of Garth Ennis’ books have come to life (for the most part).

Check it out here:

It certainly seems that the people involved – including producers Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, and showrunner Sam Catlin (previously of Breaking Bad) – know exactly what to pull from the source material, and what to add to make it their own.

So tune in tomorrow to see if they pull it off, and stay stuck to FTN to see what we make of it come Monday.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
