Gotham gets three more series regulars

May 12th, 2014 by Marc Comments

Well, we were pretty excited by the trailer for Gotham that was revealed last week (here) and we are now waiting with baited breath for any and all news…

The series, which has been picked up for a full season, has added three new cast regulars according to The Hollywood Reporter: Cory Michael Smith will play Edward Nygma the man who would become The Riddler but who is for now a pathologist at GCPD , Victoria Cartagena will play detective Renee Montoya (a familiar name to fans of Batman The Animated Series) and Andrew Stewart Jones will play detective Crispus Allen .

We think it’s safe to say the series will be very GCPD-centric at this stage…

Gotham is an origin story of the great DC Comics super villains and vigilantes, revealing an entirely new chapter that has never been told. From executive producer/writer Bruno Heller (The Mentalist, Rome), Gotham follows one cop’s rise through a dangerously corrupt city teetering on the edge of evil and chronicles the birth of one of the most popular super heroes of our time.

The cast includes Ben McKenzie as James Gordon, Donal Logue as Harvey Bullock, David Mazouz as Bruce Wayne, Camren Bicondova as Selina Kyle,   Grayson McCouch and Brette Taylor as Thomas and Martha Wayne, Robin Lord Taylor as Oswald Cobblepot, Sean Pertwee as Alfred Pennyworth,  Erin Richards as Gordon’s fiancee, Barbara Kean, Zabryna Guevara as Gordon’s boss at the GCPD, Captain Essen, Jada Pinkett Smith as Fish Mooney, and Drew Powell as Butch Gilzean.

Gotham is based upon characters published by DC Comics and is produced by Warner Bros. Television. Heller wrote the pilot, which will be directed and executive-produced by Emmy Award nominee Danny Cannon (the CSI series, Nikita).

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
