Gotham Season 5 brings the muscle with Bane and Frank Miller’s Mutant Leader

August 21st, 2018 by Marc Comments

We all know Gotham’s fifth season will be the big sign off as the show is wrapping up… and it looks like the team behind it are planning on going out with a real bang!

So, firstly, it seems that, despite the fact that the series features a very young Bruce Wayne suiting up to take on the villains of Batman lore, we will see… Bane?!

An episode list has appeared on TVLine that teases the villain’s appearance in the show:

Episode 5×05: “Pena Dura”
Episode 5×06: “The Air is Getting Slippery”
Episode 5×07: TBA
Episode 5×08: “I Am Bane”

But, as if that’s not enough murderous muscle in the City, it seems we’re going to get on of Batman’s most out there villains…. the mutant leader from Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns!

Wut?!

New images from the show’s set feature a muscular character on the street that bears more than a passing resemblance to the monstrous bad guy… check it out below.

At the end of the last season of the series Gotham was in cosplay anarchy as all the villains hiding in the background are no running amok in the city and it would make sense that the mutants may become a gang in the city trying to take over.

Now, we totally understand if people think it’s stupid having villains from late in the Batman’s career in the show that focuses on young Bruce, but honestly, we love that the show is embracing all the potential for bad guys and the fact that this show if full-on Elseworlds.

The apocalypse is coming to Gotham. And we’ll be right there on the sofa watching.

Gotham’s fifth and final season is set to air on FOX sometime in early 2019.
