Hailee Steinfeld looks set to join the MCU as Kate Bishop AKA Hawkeye

September 9th, 2019 by Marc Comments

Big news from the MCU’s TV branch tonight as word is Disney+ has found its  Kate Bishop for the Hawkeye series.

Bumblebee and Edge of Seventeen star Hailee Steinfeld has apparently been offered the role in the limited series alongside current MCU star Jeremy Renner who will reprise his role as Clint Barton AKA Hawkeye.

In the comics Bishop take over the role of Hawkeye after Barton steps down but, even more interestingly, she is one of the Young Avengers, which means that, should this all go ahead as predicted, Steinfeld could see herself picking up the role on the big screen down the line too.

Hawkeye joins the likes of Falcon and Winter Soldier, Loki and WandaVision, Ms Marvel, Moon Knight and She-Hulk so you know Disney and Marvel are in it for the long haul.

Honestly, I liked the idea of her as Batgirl in the DCEU, so I’m a bit miffed at this news, but she’s a cracking actress and it’s always fun to see what she’s going to bring to the role… action hero? Looks like that’s next.

Thoughts? Let me know.
