Has DC Universe cast its Swamp Thing?

September 12th, 2018 by Marc Comments

It looks like DC Universe may have found its Swamp Thing.

Friday The 13th and Predators star Derek Mears is being strongly rumoured to have nailed the role in the upcoming series for DC’s streaming service.

The actor will join – if he gets the role – Crystal Reed as Abby Arcane and Maria Sten as Liz Tremayne in the series which we learned last week will be a fully r-rated adult horror/love story.

We also leaned that the show will feature a practical suit for the titular anti-hero.

We’ll keep you posted as we hear more…

When CDC researcher Abby Arcane returns to her childhood home of Houma, Louisiana, in order to investigate a deadly swamp-borne virus, she develops a surprising bond with scientist Alec Holland — only to have him tragically taken from her. But as powerful forces descend on Houma, intent on exploiting the swamp’s mysterious properties for their own purposes, Abby will discover that the swamp holds mystical secrets, both horrifying and wondrous — and the potential love of her life may not be dead after all.

Swamp Thing will likely arrive in 2019
