We all know that James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad is set for release in cinemas and on HBO Max later this year, but the writer director is currently hard at work on its spin-off series, Peacemaker.
Based on the character played by John Cena in the movie, the series is, according to Gunn himself, set to include new names and faces from the wider DC universe.
A twitter user managed to get on the HBO Max series’ set – it’s currently filming in Canada – and get some photographs (here) but one of the most interesting was the one below.
No, not of Cena, but of the police car which has two nice nods to the wider DC universe.
First up, Carlton County is likely a nod to Carlton Comics, the publisher who owned Peacemaker before he joined the DC ranks. As well as this, Evergreen Police is a nod to Evergreen City which is a big part of Hal Jordan’s story in the comics… Hal is, of course, Green Lantern.
These are very cool little nods, the likes of which I will never not be a sucker for.
