It looks like Clara may be done with the past, but the past isn’t done with her.
Possibly.
Speaking at Awesome Con in Washington DC yesterday, The Doctor himself, Peter Capaldi, was chatting about Jenna Coleman as Clara and revealed that, despite last season seeming to very much draw a line under her character, she may be back yet: “I’m not sure how successfully Clara was able to wipe his mind… I just… I was about to tell you something I can’t tell you.”
Of course, the crowd wasn’t impressed and implored that actor for more details and he said: “I just shot something that Clara was still there in.”
Now, in what capacity she’ll be back – afterall, The Doctor has a new companion now – is unclear, with some speculation that she will be in a memory of The Doctor’s. Indeed, further muddying the waters of this mystery, it must be remembered that Series 10 hasn’t started filming yet, so he may be referring to the spin-off series, Class.
Could they have a scene together in that?
Either way, it looks like the Impossible Girl will have at least one more appearance in Doctor Who.
Clara, Clara, Clara… she just doesn’t want to go, does she?
