We have been holding out on this for quite some time… and it totally paid off! Constantine is set for Arrow Season four!
At The CW’s TCA presentation today it was announced that Constantine, Matt Ryan, was heading for Star City this season in an episode called Haunted:
John Constantine is a weather worn exorcist and expert on the supernatural and the occult. He is a detective, magician, and a hunter of demons, and will provide critical support to Oliver when arrows aren’t enough.
“We are thrilled to have Matt Ryan reprise the role of John Constantine on an upcoming episode of Arrow,” says executive producer Marc Guggenheim.
“Matt is an incredibly talented actor and his portrayal of this beloved character was always something we admired. The introduction of magic and mysticism on the show this season has provided a truly organic opportunity for us to bring John Constantine to ‘Arrow’ and the CW’s DC Universe. It will be a well-deserved tip of the hat to all the Constantine fans who were so incredibly supportive of that series.”
This makes us all at FTN HQ very happy, the #SaveConstantine and #SaveConstantineWithAnArrow campaign was something we felt very strongly about and we like to think, like you all, we played a small part in this.
No word on future involvement but we reckon if John delivers the goods in this episode, we’ll see him again in the series and who knows what else beyond that. For now, this is more than enough…
After defeating his most formidable foe to date and riding off into the sunset with longtime flame Felicity Smoak, Oliver Queen (a.k.a. The Arrow) left Starling City with the hopes of beginning a new life. But will Oliver ever truly be able to leave behind his past as the Arrow, and, if so, what becomes of the team he has worked so hard to assemble? Will Diggle, Thea, and Laurel be left to continue Oliver’s crusade without him? And with Malcolm Merlyn having ascended to the top of the League of Assassins as the new Ra’s al Ghul, is anyone really safe?
“Arrow” will premiere its fourth season on Wednesday, October 7 at 8:00pm ET/PT.
