Jaden Smith to Play Static Shock?

October 27th, 2014 by Todd Black Comments

A few days ago, DC and WB broke news that part of their new digital lineup of shows would be a live-action Static Shock series. Instantly people started wondering who would play the star character Virgil Hawkins.

According to Flickingmyth.com, Jaden Smith is in talks to fill that role. To a degree this isn’t a surprising pick. Jaden is an accomplished actor (After Earth aside!), and his name brings instant recognition. Which is something that Smallville, Arrow, and even Flash didn’t have when they started. Also, both his mom (Jada Pinkett Smith) and dad (the one and only Will Smith) either are in or possibly will be in DC properties. Jada is in Gotham, and Will is in talks to be in Suicide Squad.

So what do you think of this? Should Jaden be given at least a chance to play Static? Or do you think there’s another (better) candidate to play the wise-cracking electric superhero? Let us know!
