James Arnold Taylor really wants an Obi-Wan and Satine Star Wars animated show…

One of the biggest mysteries and unexplored stories in Star Wars, and one we here at FTN HQ certainly want to see, is the relationship between everyone’s favourite Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi and the love of his life, Sabine Kryze.

In the Clone Wars animated series, we’re introduced to Sabine as the leader of Mandalore and sister to Bo-Katan. Sabine is voiced by Anna Graves and we quickly learn that Sabine isn’t just a great character, she was the love of young Obi-Wan Kenobi’s life and the girl/woman he was prepared to leave the Jedi Order for.

What?! Obi-Wan Kenobi was prepared to leave the Order for a woman he loved? Not only is this a great story we want to hear, but it puts a whole new slant of Kenobi’s relationship with Anakin Skywalker, the man who will almost destroy the Jedi over the woman he loves.

Shawn Levy and writer talk about Ryan Gosling Star Wars movie… coming sooner than we thought?

Well, it seems that James Arnold Taylor, the voice behind Kenobi in the Clone Wars and friend to FTN, also really wants to see that story told.

In a new interview with Screenrant, that actor says: “I would really love for them [Lucasfilm] to tell a story in animated form of Duchess Satine and Obi-Wan when they were younger and how they met, because we’ve talked about it throughout Clone Wars.

“Anna Graves and I are very talented voice actors, so we could pull that off! [Laughs] I could be a younger Obi-Wan Kenobi, and she could be a younger Satine. I would love to see that story – selfishly, yes, but also because I think the fans would love it too. There’s a beautiful, wonderful group of fans that I see at every ComicCon. They dress up as ObaTine – that’s what they call Satine and Obi-Wan together, and I love that story.”

Daniel Logan says his Boba Fett was originally supposed to kill Mace Windu in Revenge of the Sith

He also says that he would love to see Ahsoka and Jedi Master Plo Koon’s relationship explored more after Plo discovered young Ahsoka and recognised her Force abilities when she was just a baby: “I would love to see more of that story and how he helped raise her up at the Jedi Temple.”

Clone Wars voice-actor and also a friend of FTN’s, Stephen Sansweet has said that Star Wars Celebration Japan, which is just over a week away, will have some big news about the future of Star Wars animation (“A Sneak Peek at What’s to Come”) and while I really want to see a Han, Luke, Leia and Lando series, I’d not complain about a young Ob-wan show.

WATCH: Surprise! Trailer drops for Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
